Red Carpet Jewelry at the Oscar's

Statement jewelry is always a stunning addition to any outfit and the 2015 Oscar's didn't disappoint this year! I love so many of the beautiful necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings that were worn this year!

Don't Be A Creature of Habit...

Don’t be a creature of habit…wear different accessories! 

You would be amazed at how you can wear the same outfit, but throw on a different necklace & pair of earrings and it completely changes the look. It can even make an outfit go from casual to dressy with the right accessories.

 

I know, sometimes easier said than done. We can all be creatures of habit!

 

Ways to break those habits

 

       Organize you jewelry – when you’re organized, it’s easier to see what you have, which makes it easier to grab different  pieces.

       Figure it out - Figure out what you’re going to wear the night before and set your accessories out so they’re ready to go too. When you’re running late in the morning, you tend to grab the same accessories over and over.

      Add to your collection – if you don’t have many accessories, now’s the time to up your collection.

 

      Rotate your collection – there’s a couple of ways you can do this: 1) Rotate pieces from front to back. If you keep your jewelry in a drawer or jewelry box, rotate your pieces so you don’t grab the same ones every day; 2) Rotate by season. Keep the pieces that go with the season you’re in at the front and rotate accordingly. As seasons change, so should your accessories!

 

Accessorizing an outfit is one of my favorite parts about getting ready. It’s the final touches that can make an outfit really pop! It’s like the icing on the cake!

 

Why not have a few statement pieces and add to that. Layering is a GREAT style!

 

So, don’t be afraid to change it up. You will feel like you just bought a new outfit!

TIME....I need more of it!!!

I bet if you're like me, you're always saying, "I don't have enough time" or "I need more time!" What I'm learning is, I need to better manage my time and that is one of my goals this year. Goals...I'll touch more on that in another post. 

I seem to have this knack for somewhat avoiding a project, and it can even be a project I'm excited to work on, by doing other things. I guess you could say I like to procrastinate. I don't know why that is but it's something I intend to STOP doing this year! I will say, I'm a lot better at it then I was a year ago. I think having lost weight helped with that. Losing Weight = More Energy! Yeah for me!! 

One key to time is truly managing it. You have to be in tune with what your working on and how much time you will allow yourself to work on things. One thing that helps me is making lists. For whatever reason, I accomplish what I write down or put in my calendar to pop-up and remind me. 

We all need mindless things in our lives to enjoy, whether it be a game on your iphone or reading a magazine. BUT... keep mind of your time so you don't waste hours on something that is mindless. Especially when you have a million other things to do. 

I refuse to let another year go by and not be saying at the end of the year, "if only I had more time!" No more excuses!!

Shocked or Rocked...

I love watching red carpet events and the 2014 VMA Red Carpet was no exception. So tell me did these stars shock or rock their outfits this year???

Lucy Hale hosted the VMA Red Carpet wearing this adorable strapless pink and black dress

Did she shock in this short dress or did she rock it? I say she Rocked It! I love pink and black together and think she looked soooo stylish, classy and super cute!

Amber Rose got all chained up this year

Did she shock in this outift or did she rock it? I say she Shocked It...but in a good way. She had all the right places covered and it is the VMA's after all! I design jewelry and use chain alot. Hmmm maybe I should be making dresses! 

Gwen Stefani sported this sexy two piece pant suit

Did she shock in this two piece or did she rock it? I say she Rocked It! She is such a classy girl and really knows how to pull off an outfit and this one was no exception!

Taylor Swift wears this one piece romper style outfit

Did she shock in this short outfit or did she rock it? I say she Shocked It! She's a beautiful girl and can pull of anything but I didn't care for this on her at all.

Katy Perry wears this denim inspired dress

Did she shock in this dress or did she rock it? I say she Rocked It BIG time!! It's so different and I love the design of it...very flattering! She's got this Wonder Woman thing going on with the choker.

Miley Cyrus goes all black in a two piece

Did she shock in this outfit or did she rock it? I say nothing Miley wears would really shock anyone but over all, I'd say she Rocked It! I'm not big on tube tops so don't care for this look but she made it work!

Jennifer Lopez goes all strappy

Did she shock in this stappy dress or did she rock it? I say she Rocked It but then I always think Jennifer rocks the looks. Maybe I'm a little biased because she's my beauty idol but this dress is stunning!!

With all the looks on the red carpet tonight I saw very little accessorizing. A lot of rings but not too many necklaces or bracelets. Not every outfit has to be adorned with tons of jewelry and I myself love to wear an outfit and one statement piece of jewelry sometimes.

Poker Face

Love playing cards or know someone who does? This fun, yet fashionable necklace is sure to make a statement, whether your hitting the casino or having a night in playing card games.

My husband's love and skill of playing poker inspired me to make this necklace.

The necklace is made on a lightweight antique chain that measures 18" long and finished with a lobster clasp. Then I added some charms that all have a card suite on them. The adorable keys have a club on one of them and a spade on the other. The locks on the charm have intricate detail as the Ace of Clubs. Black faceted rondelle crystals and red faceted helix crystals add a touch of sparkle and the focal bead is an antique bronze diamond shape with all the card suits cutout in the center.

Think of it as your "good luck" charm necklace!

LIttle Girls Love Bling Too...

Little girls love to dress up and the thought of them adding a piece of jewelry to their cute little outfit makes them feel so girlie girl! I loved playing dress up in my mom's heels and jewelry. It made me feel like a "minnie her". She was my idol when it came to fashion!

All Crystal Bride-to-Be Necklace

Changing the look of an old outfit...

Are you bored with the clothes in your closet? I get like that sometimes and just want to buy a new outfit. A lot of times I end up purchasing similar outfits I already have because I like the style or color. Why not accessorize what you already have and bring that old outfit to life with new pieces!?
